Thanks for your support

Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the competition to win the chance to perform at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall prior to a concert by the Soweto Gospel Choir. We’ve won! We’ll be singing to audience members as they wait in the foyer before the concert this Sunday, 2nd October. We also get the chance to sit in on the sound check for the concert, watching the world-class Soweto Gospel Choir at work. We’re really excited about this opportunity, so thanks for all your support – we can’t wait!

It’s also been a great couple of weeks watching the company grow – we’re around a third bigger than we were last season, with lots of new singers joining us in every group. We’ve got plenty of exciting things in the pipeline, and we’re just thrilled that we’re going to be able to share them with more and more people.

The more the merrier

We’ve had our first sessions of the season in Wakefield, Nottingham and Barnsley now – only Sheffield to come tonight. So far, Wakefield has grown by a third, Nottingham gained another fifteen singers, and Barnsley more than doubled in size! All the Barnsley singers seemed to enjoy our new venue, which is really light and modern, and it was great to see some old friends in Nottingham who I’ve not seen for a while.

We’ve had lots of people voting for us in the Soweto Gospel Choir competition – thanks for your support. Keep spreading the word, and hopefully we’ll get to sing on 2nd October – we’re really looking forward to it if we get the opportunity. A big thank you to everyone who has shared the link on Facebook or sent it to their friends and family – it’s great to have your support.

We’ve updated our Performance page with information about some of the performances we have confirmed for this season – take a look if you’d like to come and hear us sing. More performances will be added as they are confirmed. If you can’t wait until then, head to our YouTube channel at to see us there – we have lots of videos for you to watch.

We’re getting all geared up for our final “launch night” tonight – Sheffield. Let’s see if we can raise the roof!

We need your vote!

We’ve got a great opportunity to sing in the foyer of The Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham prior to a concert by The Soweto Gospel Choir. However, in order to get this chance, we need lots of people to vote for us in an online competition to choose which choir gets to sing. There are only two choirs to pick from, us and the Bestwood Male Voice Choir (which is kind of ironic as their assistant MD is a close friend of mine!). Please follow the link below and vote for us, so we can go and sing in this great venue (and have the chance to sit in on the Soweto Gospel Choir rehearsing).

(Please note that it seems to take 3-4 minutes for the survey to register your vote – please be patient!).

We had the first session of the Autumn season in Wakefield last night, and it was great to be back. There were lots of new people too, which was really lovely – nice to see Wakefield going from strength to strength. We’ve had lots of enquiries from people wanting to join the Nottingham group tonight, so it looks like another busy night!
