Our usual venue of Sheffield Springs Academy isn’t available on 24th September, so we’ll be relocating for this one session. Our alternative venue this time will be the Memorial Hall at Sheffield City Hall – a great venue, and we’re thrilled to be able to have it for this session.
Access to the Memorial Hall is at the back of the City Hall. The main entrance, with the big pillars and steps, overlooking the fountain, will be used for that evening’s concert in the Irwin Mitchell Hall, so please don’t use the main entrance. There is an entrance at the side (on the right as you’re looking at City Hall from the front), which is for the Ballroom – we’re not using this entrance either! Right at the back of the building, on the curved wall, there is the entrance for the Memorial Hall – also often used for the Comedy Club, which takes place in the Memorial Hall. This will be our entrance. It is a street-level entrance, with no steps, and will be manned throughout the night by a City Hall steward. You can see this curved wall clearly on the map here.
There is limited car parking in the Holly Street car park (£1.50/hour) directly opposite the City Hall stage door, and further parking in the Carver Lane car park next to Holly Street. There are several other car parks nearby, most of which are reasonably priced – see http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/sheffield_city_hall/ for more options.
If anyone has any questions or concerns about this venue change, please get in touch using the details on the Contact page of the main BeVox website.
Our sessions in Lincoln on 1st and 8th July will be in the Gym at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School, rather than the Main Hall.
We have a slight venue change for Lincoln this week (29th April). We’re still at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School, but we’re in the gym rather than the school hall. Apologies for the late notice – we’ve only been informed by the school today.
We’ll make sure that we signpost the gym so you can find it easily, but if you have any concerns, please get in touch using the contact details on our main website at www.bevox.co.uk/contact.
Just a quick note to remind people that we’re not at our usual venues in Nottingham and Sheffield this week.
We’ll be at St Mary’s Church
, Wollaton Park, Wollaton Hall Drive, Nottingham NG8 1AF. There is a reasonable amount of parking space in the church car park, and plenty of on-street parking directly outside (on Wollaton Hall Drive).
We’re at Newfield Secondary School
, Lees Hall Road, Sheffield S8 9JP. We’ll be back at the Springs for our final session on 2nd April (as well as for the BeVox Rocks rehearsal with the band on 28th March).
After being told we may need to move this week’s session due to the industrial action at Sheffield Springs Academy, we’ve now got an update – the site staff aren’t striking, so we can use the venue as normal. See you there!
Just a reminder – the Nottingham sessions are now at West Bridgford Methodist Church, on the junction of Musters Road and Patrick Road, from 11th Feb until the end of the season.
Our first five sessions this season will all be at our usual venue, The Becket School. The final seven sessions, starting from 11th February, will be at our alternative venue, West Bridgford Methodist Church (on the junction of Musters Road and Patrick Road). The school is not available for these seven weeks, which is why we’re at the church.
We’ll have a chat in the first few sessions about options for the future.
Just a reminder that the session on 13th June 2013 will be at Victoria Hall Methodist Church, Norfolk Street, Sheffield – opposite the stage door for The Crucible.
We’ll be back to our usual venue of Sheffield Springs Academy next week.
For two weeks this season, we’re not able to use our regular venue at Sheffield Springs Academy. On 9th May and 13th June, we’ll be at Victoria Hall Methodist Church instead. This is in the centre of Sheffield, on Norfolk Street, just opposite the stage door for The Crucible Theatre.
Being a city centre venue, parking can be problematic – the nearest car park is Arundel Gate NCP, although that isn’t cheap. There is some on-street parking (metered) nearby, but park and ride is also a good option. There are a couple of disabled parking spaces directly outside the church – please keep these free for disabled users!
There’s a map to the church here: http://goo.gl/maps/ExtqM
See you there!
Tonight’s session is ON – remember we’re at St Wilfrid’s, not the school. See my previous post for all the details of how to get there.
See you later!
