Music at the Minster – Southwell

I’ve posted the running order for this separately.

Great concert at Music from the Crofts

Thanks to everyone who came along and made last night’s “Music from the Crofts” concert such a success. Everyone was in fine voice, despite the downpour, and I was really pleased with the overall sound. There were a couple of sopranos who need to look again at “I ain’t gon’ do you wrong” – I’ll start getting cross if I hear “gonna” again! Les Mis was epic, and I’m so glad we’ve brought it back.

Thanks everyone for your patience and organisation too – we looked very professional, and I was really pleased with how everything came together. I really appreciated the support from Shelley signing people in, Howard helping with my gear, and Pauline keeping us all organised – great to see the teamwork. Looking forward to giving the rest of the songs a public airing now – keep working hard, and the end-of-season concerts will be incredible!

Music at the Minster – running order

This is the planned running order for the “Music at the Minster” concert. It may change after our final rehearsal on 7th April, but I’m hopeful it won’t.

I’ll be teaching you the encore at the additional session on April 7th, or for those that can’t make this, on the afternoon of the concert. Don’t panic though – you’ll get it!

Change of venue, Nottingham, 19th March

Next week’s session will be at St Wilfrid’s Church, Wilford, rather than our usual venue of The Becket School. The church’s address is St Wilfrid’s Church, Church Drive, Main Rd, Wilford, Nottingham NG11 7AJ. There is a link to a map, including directions for how to get there from the school, here: http://goo.gl/maps/aI8Kc

Be careful not to miss the turnoff from Main Road onto Church Drive – it’s quite small, and feels like a private drive rather than a main road.

I’ve put a satellite map on our website, with a few key areas marked on. Take a look at http://www.bevox.co.uk/files/StWilfridsChurchMap.jpg and you’ll see I’ve marked the route from Main Road onto Church Drive in red. The areas marked in blue are where you can park your cars – there are some paved areas, and some areas where you can park on the grass. The green loop road must be kept clear for access to the Rectory. The yellow path shows where you walk from your car to the church, and the pink square is the Church Office, where we have use of the loo!

If anything is unclear, please get in touch in plenty of time, so you’re properly organised for next week. I’ll be arriving nice and early, and will put up a few signs to help you find us!
